BRANDING A SOCCER ACADEMY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
San Diego Football Center aims to develop youth leaders on and off the pitch.
The Football Center uses soccer to create a sustainable youth leadership ecosystem that will drive a powerful community and personal success.
The founders of the academy tapped me to design the crest and identity prior to the launch in 2015.
A FULL REBRAND
The four colors around the monogram represent the four levels of play, similar to karate belts, within the academy. Players in the San Diego Football Center can move up levels as they progress as youth leaders on and off the pitch. The typeface evokes San Diego’s Mexican-American heritage, while the SDFC monogram interlocks at multiple points, paying tribute to the cohesive structure of this unique soccer academy.
